Install Internet Software
So you have not installed the Internet components on your Mac. Now that you would like to go through the same please ensure that you have your System CD is with you and after the installation is complete Restart your Mac.

Note: If unsure about whether you had already installed Internet software please don't worry as there is no harm if you reinstall some components.

Steps to install:

  1. Put your System CD in the CD-ROM drive and then double click on the MacOS Install icon.

  • Then click Continue.

  • You have to select your destination disk. Preferably it should be your startup disk.

  • Do not click on the Perform Clean Install check box.

  • Click on Select button.

  • Click on Add/ Remove button at the next prompt.

  • Now you will be prompted with selections. Here you select Internet Access, Open Transport and Macintosh Runtime for Java.

  • Click Start.

  • The installer will now check you system and install the necessary software and will prompt you to restart the machine.

    Restart your machine and get ready to configure your Mac.

    Now you are ready to configure your Mac. You can either use the Assistant or configure manually the Control Panels : Modem, TCP/IP and PPP.

    Click here to go to the Assistant.
